Joan A. Keely

Joan Keely is a versatile litigation and transactional attorney. Her diverse practice includes the representation of landlords, tenants, creditors, debtors, corporate entities, religious corporations and numerous individuals. She has extensive experience defending clients in foreclosure matters, real property disputes, insurance subrogation, insurance defense, contract disputes and other civil litigation. Joan collaborates with clients so they can provide valuable input to ensure that the legal strategy accounts for everyone’s realities.

Joan has extensive experience in complex commercial real estate transactions in the tri-state area, primarily Manhattan. She is well versed in leasing and licensing agreements and the latest real estate trends in NY.

While in law school, Joan externed at the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of the State of New York, where she worked on all manner of criminal prosecutions. She was also admitted to the Southern District under the Student Practice Program to prosecute Federal Environmental Law violations under the Clean Air Act. Joan was selectively chosen to receive a scholarship for a summer internship with Pace University School of Law’s Environmental Litigation Clinic headed by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., where she represented Riverkeeper.

Joan is admitted to the NY State Bar and the Eastern District of New York.
